  • Technical automotive engineering skills in mechanical and electrical aspects.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engineering maintenance support to manufacturing assets and equipment.
  • Carry out electrical maintenance including terminations of industrial connectors.
  • Fault diagnosis and programming robots.

In this electrical biased role, you will have a fantastic opportunity to join a highly skilled, maintenance team based at our facility in Solihull.

You’ll get to deliver on excellence by providing engineering maintenance support to all manufacturing assets and equipment. Our manufacturing technologies includes automated equipment comprising of robots, automated welding and joining equipment, laser joining systems, automated conveyors, complex tooling, and fixturing and lifting equipment.

WHAT TO EXPECT

In this role, no two tasks are the same. Here’s what to expect day to day:

  • Experience in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) with at least Ladder Logic understanding
  • Carry out electrical maintenance (for example, termination of industrial connectors and power sockets)
  • Fault diagnosis of various motor types
  • Programming robot positions and editing the robot program

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills you'll need to have to help you succeed here, including:

  • A time served recognised indentured/certificated Advanced Apprenticeship or Armed Forces equivalent (i.e. Advanced Modern Apprenticeship, Craft Apprenticeship, IMI certificated Advanced Apprenticeship) in electrical engineering, electical maintenance or other relevant subject
  • Previous experience in a similar role in maintenance operations in Manufacturing
  • Technical (mechanical and electrical) automotive engineering skills gained in Manufacturing
  • Knowledge of PLC / Electrical Control / Mechanical Systems
  • You will need the right to work in the UK without any visa sponsorship requirement by JLR as this role is not eligible for sponsorship.
