Job summary

The Electrical Maintenance Technician - EV Charging role with Marmion is a hands-on field position supporting the commissioning, maintenance and repair of EV charging equipment across the UK. You will diagnose faults, configure systems and perform firmware updates in a fast-growing provider of EV infrastructure.

Expect regular travel within Greater London/M25 corridor with occasional overnight stays; a UK driving licence is required and right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Electro-technical qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent).
• At least 2 years' experience in commercial field-based electrical installation/maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly.
• Right to Work in the UK; visa sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance Technician - EV Charging

If you're a hands-on Electrical Technician who enjoys solving problems in the field, this is an opportunity to join a fast-growing EV infrastructure business delivering critical charging solutions across the UK. Working across AC, Rapid DC, Ultra & High-Power Charging Systems (HPC), you will play a key role supporting the commissioning, maintenance and repair of EV charging equipment, with clear opportunities to develop your skills in a rapidly growing sector.

The Role

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and system faults on EV charging equipment.
• Commission, configure and carry out firmware updates where required.

Salary, Overtime & Benefits

• £36,000+ pa, negotiable dependent on experience
• Paid Overtime (1.5x/2x rates) - strong earning potential
• On-Call Allowance (1 in 3 weeks)
• Covering Greater London, M25 Corridor (home-based with daily travel and occasional overnight stays)

Skills & Experience

You’ll ideally have:

• Level 3 Electro-technical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds or equivalent).
• At least 2 years' experience working to SLAs in a commercial field-based electrical installation/maintenance environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability with confidence working independently in the field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate and work closely with both internal stakeholders and customers.
• Familiarity with test and measurement equipment (multimeters & voltage testers)
• A valid UK driving licence, happy with regular travel and occasional overnight stays.
• Experience working within EV Charging/Renewable Energy/Power Electronics would be advantageous but not essential, our client is open to speaking with candidates from a range of industries.
• BS7671 - IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) and City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection & Testing would also be desirable.
• Candidates must have a permanent Right to Work in the UK. Please note, our client cannot offer visa sponsorship for this position.
