Job summary

Marmion is seeking a hands-on Electrical Technician to join a fast-growing EV charging infrastructure business in the UK. You will diagnose faults, commission firmware updates, and perform maintenance across AC, DC and HPC systems, while supporting customers on-site and reporting clearly.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 electro-technical qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent).
• At least 2 years’ experience in field-based electrical installation/maintenance in a commercial environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability with ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Valid UK driving license; willingness to travel and stay away from home as required.

If you’re a hands-on Electrical Technician who enjoys solving problems in the field, this is an opportunity to join a fast-growing EV infrastructure business delivering critical charging solutions across the UK. Working across AC, Rapid DC, Ultra & High-Power Charging Systems (HPC), you will play a key role supporting the commissioning, maintenance and repair of EV charging equipment, with clear opportunities to develop your skills in a rapidly growing sector.

The Role

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and system faults on EV charging equipment.
• Commission, configure and carry out firmware updates where required.

Skills & Experience

You’ll ideally have:

• Level 3 Electro-technical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds or equivalent).
• At least 2 years’ experience working to SLAs in a commercial field-based electrical installation/maintenance environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability with confidence working independently in the field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate and work closely with both internal stakeholders and customers.
• Familiarity with test and measurement equipment (multimeters & voltage testers)
• A valid UK driving licence, happy with regular travel and occasional overnight stays.
• Experience working within EV Charging/Renewable Energy/Power Electronics would be advantageous but not essential, our client is open to speaking with candidates from a range of industries.
• BS7671 - IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) and City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection & Testing would also be desirable.
• Candidates must have a permanent Right to Work in the UK. Please note, our client cannot offer visa sponsorship for this position.
