Randstad CPE is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician for the Shotton Steelworks. The role focuses on fault finding and maintenance of Siemens PLCs within the Panels and Profiles remit.

Working days, 37.5 hours weekly, with a medical and drug/alcohol test prior to start. HNC in Electrical Engineering preferred and experience in heavy industry. Strong safety and PLC skills are essential.

Qualifications

• HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Experience with fault finding and maintenance on Siemens PLCs is essential.
• IT literacy with MS Office and engineering software is needed.

Responsabilités

• Maintaining and improving electrical systems within the Panels and Profiles department.
• Maintaining and repairing electrical and process machinery.
• Maximising up-time and ensuring safe operation of electrical machinery.
• Leading and supporting preventative maintenance programmes to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving electrical faults and breakdowns quickly and effectively.
• Collaborating with contractors and suppliers to source resources and components efficiently.
• Training and coaching production operators in basic electrical safety and maintenance best practices.
• Supporting continuous improvement within the department.
• Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies across all activities.

Are you a time served Electrical Engineer from Manufacturing or Heavy Industry?

Do you have fault finding and maintenance experience on Siemens PLC's?

Are you based in or around Shotton?

A permanent opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Technician to support the Panels and Profiles remit of the Shotton Steelworks. The successful applicant will ideally be a HNC holder, with tenure in the heavy industry/manufacturing industry and working on process machinery.

Role:

Electrical Maintenance Technician

Salary: up to £48400 (including 10% shift allowance)

Shift Patterns:

Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours per week, day shifts

Start:

ASAP but pending the successful completion of a medical, which does include a drug and alcohol test

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining and improving electrical systems within the Panels and Profiles department


• Maintaining and repairing electrical and process machinery


• Focusing on maximising up-time and ensuring safe operation of electrical machinery


• Leading and supporting preventative maintenance programmes to reduce unplanned downtime


• Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving electrical faults and breakdowns as quickly and effectively as possible


• Working with contractors and suppliers to source resources and components efficiently


• Training and coaching production operators in basic electrical safety and maintenance best practices


• Supporting continuous improvement within the department


• Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies across all activities


• HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering


• Demonstrated experience within electrical maintenance within a Heavy Industry environment


• Confidence with control systems and PLC's - Siemens


• IT literacy, especially with MS office and engineering software


• Driving licence and access to own vehicle (due to the nature of the works)


• Good verbal and written communication skills
