Job summary

JDR Cable Systems Ltd (trading as JDR Cables) seeks an Electrical Maintenance Technician for its new Cambois, Blyth facility. You will support production on a continental shift, performing preventative and breakdown maintenance on rotating equipment, stranders, extrusion lines, armourers and carousels.

Qualifications

• Time served in electrical discipline or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and lean manufacturing concepts (5S).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair equipment to meet production priorities and TPM/PPM targets.
• Diagnose faults, plan, execute maintenance and return equipment to operation.
• Define and document maintenance activities using the CMMS system.
• Estimate job duration and communicate potential downtime to production.
• Escalate risks or damages and report root causes to management.
• Supervise external contractors and ensure safe, compliant work practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and update maintenance records.
