Job description

Zenith People are working with our client who are a Manufacturer based in Tyne & Wear and are looking to recruit a time-served, Electrical Biased Maintenance Technician on a permanent basis. Working a shift pattern of Days & Nights, duties will be as follows:-

44 hour week on Days

36 hour week on Nights

7am - 7pm and 7pm 7am

Weekly Rotation Days/Nights

Additional Shift Pattern when busy

3 Shifts including Monday to Saturday 8 hour shifts (mornings)

  • Must have HNC or equivalent experience.
  • Electrical Bias
  • 3 Phase experience
  • 18th Edition Qualified
  • Experience with Siemens S7 PLC Fault Finding

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults on machinery and equipment, with a focus on Siemens PLCs.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Provide technical support and training to junior technicians and apprentices.

Qualifications:

  • Completed Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • HNC (Higher National Certificate) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in fault finding and troubleshooting on PLCs.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • City and Guilds electrical testing and inspection 2391 Desirable
  • 18th Edition or above in Electrical regulation Desirable
