Job description

Zenith People are working with our client who are looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Biased Shift Maintenance Technician to join their team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be time-served and have previous experience of working in a fully automated production environment responding to electrical and mechanical breakdowns.

Shift pattern (Contientals)

Responsibilities:

The main purpose of the role is to provide expert electrical support to ensure manufacturing operations, site facilities, and related services are maintained to a high standard of reliability, safety, and efficiency.

  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on production equipment to minimise downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform calibration, validation, and corrections on devices such as load cells and temperature controllers.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in production machinery and auxiliary equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to drive continuous improvement in equipment reliability and system performance.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs via CMMS.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and systems.
  • Provide guidance, technical support, and training to apprentices and junior technicians.
  • Support production operations by identifying and resolving electrical issues that affect output and efficiency.
  • Partner with the on-site projects team to develop and enhance electrical control systems.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proficient in fault diagnosis using Siemens PLCs.
  • Hands-on experience with AC/DC drives (primarily Siemens and ABB).
  • Understanding of tension control systems and associated feedback mechanisms.
  • Working knowledge of industrial bus networks (Profibus, Profinet).
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Strong grasp of electrical circuit design and troubleshooting.
