A recruitment agency is partnering with a client to find an experienced Electrical Biased Maintenance Technician in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role involves maintaining and repairing equipment while contributing to improvements and collaborating with the engineering team. Candidates should have strong electrical fault-finding capabilities and experience in heavy engineering. Training on Siemens PLCs is available. Qualifications

• Experience in heavy engineering electrical maintenance or similar environments.
• Confident working with AC/DC motors, single-phase and three-phase systems.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to spot issues early and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair plant and equipment, responding to both reactive breakdowns and planned preventative maintenance.
• Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new and existing machinery.
• Take a proactive approach to identifying improvements, safety enhancements, and long-term engineering solutions.
• Diagnose electrical faults, identify root causes, and communicate findings clearly to relevant colleagues.
• Work collaboratively with the lead technician and maintenance team.
• Contribute to the development of other engineers through knowledge sharing and teamwork.
