Job summary

GPS Recruitment is seeking an Engineering/maintenance professional to carry out day-to-day activities across production facilities, ensuring equipment is maintained to meet production needs.

The role covers fault finding, repairs, installations of new equipment, and adherence to safe systems of work, with day shift hours and a route to develop planned maintenance schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining production equipment and performing fault diagnosis.
• Ability to develop and follow maintenance schedules, including shutdowns.
• Experience with electrical systems, PLCs and SCADA.
• Commitment to safe working practices and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Respond to faults and repair a range of plant equipment to maximise availability.
• Communicate maintenance activities to site contacts (Production Manager, Shift Supervisor, engineering team).
• Develop planned maintenance schedules and shutdowns; follow work instructions within timescales.
• Maintain electrical plant and control systems (PLC/SCADA) per maintenance plan.
• Install new plant equipment and electrical/mechanical systems including calibrations and pneumatics/hydraulics.
• Follow Safe Systems of Work and risk assessments to minimise hazards and risks.

Job Role

To carry out day to day Engineering and maintenance activities across Production facilities ensuring production equipment/machinery are maintained and serviced in order to meet production requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maximum plant availability through effective response, fault finding diagnosis and repair of a wide range of plant equipment Conveyor, Elevators, Form Fill and Seals and Palletisers
• Clearly communicate all maintenance to key site contacts; Production Manager, Shift Supervisor, Engineering team colleagues as appropriate
• Assist developing planned maintenance schedules incl. shutdown/s
• Follow and complete planned work schedules/instructions for designated maintenance activities to agreed timescales
• Maintain electrical plant, equipment and control systems (including PLC and SCADA) in accordance with the maintenance schedule
• Carry out installations of new plant equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, inclusive of calibrations, pneumatics, hydraulic's, PLC's, fabrication
• Safe use of all engineering tools and equipment as required to ensure all operations run safe and efficiently including safe handling and installation of parts with and safe processes followed at all times
• Maintain and continually review/develop Safe Systems of Work incl. implementation of appropriate Risk Assessments as appropriate
• Ensuring that hazards and risks are minimised

Working Hours

Day shift: Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 4.30pm. Friday 7.30am - 2.00pm.
