Electrical Maintenance Technician

7 Steel UK – Cardiff

Salary: £40,000

Joining our Scrap Purchasing team as an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you’ll be maintaining and repairing some of the largest pieces of kit and machinery you’ll find in the industry. One day you could be responding to emergency breakdowns, and the next implementing and maintaining a solid maintenance programme.

You will be an experienced Electrical Technician, who thrives in a heavy industry environment. You’re proactive and passionate about continuous improvement, solving problems, and most importantly adhering to our health and safety procedures.

You need a minimum of NVQ L3 in Electrical Engineering to be considered for the role.

We take scrap metal from across the UK, recycle it, and produce construction steels. Around one million tonnes of finished product every year. We’ve won awards for our environmental sustainability and we’re proud to be the largest steel recycling business in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair large industrial equipment and machinery in a heavy industry setting.

• Respond to emergency breakdowns and implement robust maintenance programmes.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to health and safety procedures.

• Work as part of the Scrap Purchasing team to support production and reliability goals.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (minimum).

• Experience in a heavy industry environment and proactive problem-solving mindset.
