Job summary

Acorn by Synergy is recruiting Electrical Maintenance Technicians to join a market-leading life sciences organisation in Cardiff. The role involves proactive preventative maintenance, fault finding, and supporting production in a busy manufacturing environment.

Initially offered on a temporary basis for 2-3 months, with potential for longer-term opportunities. Offer includes rotating shifts Monday to Friday with early/late windows, and hourly pay between £19.48 and £22.29.

Qualifications

• Completed an apprenticeship or hold formal qualifications in Electrical Maintenance or a related field.
• Experience with PLC systems.
• Self-motivated and committed to upholding high standards of Safety, Quality and Delivery.
• Ability to communicate effectively across all departments and functions.
• Able to complete basic fault finding on mechanical systems, ideally within a manufacturing and/or cleanroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on production equipment to ensure optimal operation and minimise downtime.
• Respond quickly and effectively to unplanned equipment breakdowns, supporting production continuity.
• Assist in process changeovers, machine setups, and implementation of health and safety-related actions.
• Contribute to tasks including risk assessments, portable appliance testing, PUWER compliance checks, LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) procedures, and installation qualifications.
• Collaborate with process engineering to monitor and analyse equipment performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor and improve equipment performance by ensuring fault finding and root cause analysis are carried out in a timely manner to fix and eliminate repeated faults.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional to join a busy manufacturing environment, carrying out preventative maintenance, fault finding, and equipment support. The role is initially offered on a temporary basis for 2-3 months, with the potential for long-term or permanent opportunities for the right candidate.
