Overview

Are you a qualified electrician looking for a rewarding career beyond the private sector? Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician/Team Leader to join our Estates & Facilities team in the Mendip area. This is more than just a maintenance role; it’s an opportunity to contribute to the safety and wellbeing of patients, staff, and visitors by ensuring our hospital infrastructure runs smoothly and safely. You’ll cover the Trust sites in the Mendip area including Frome and Shepton Mallet Community Hospitals, Priory Health Park and Glastonbury Health Centre. The role also offers a Recruitment and Retention payment of 3500 per year in addition to the annual salary.

Responsibilities
  • Leading and supervising a team of electrical craftspersons.
  • Carrying out planned, preventative, and reactive electrical maintenance across NHS facilities.
  • Supporting installation, testing, commissioning, and fault-finding on a wide range of electrical systems including LV circuits, switchgear, and generators.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and NHS Health Technical Memorandums (HTMs).
  • Coordinating contractor works and contributing to service planning and delivery.
