Job description:

Job Summary: As the Electrical Maintenance Team Leader, you'll be based at our Luton manufacturing facility, reporting to the Works Engineering and Facilities Leader. Leading a small team within Maintenance and Facilities, you will plan the effective delivery of Maintenance & Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM), including breakdown support across the site.

With a strong background in Electrical Engineering and relevant experience with machinery and processes, you will ensure effective handover and hand back arrangements with production teams. You will be responsible for ensuring work delivery complies with all site requirements, and that plant and personnel operate within safety, legislative, regulatory, and company standards (e.g., safety, quality, risk, security).

As Electrical Maintenance Team Leader, you will lead a team of five Electrical Maintenance colleagues, fostering an inspiring environment with open communication, ensuring team and individual training within agreed standards and timeframes. You will be responsible for workload distribution, organizing response to unplanned events, and managing team workload.

The successful candidate will work a weekly alternating shift pattern:

  • Week 1: Monday to Thursday 6am-2pm, Friday 6am-11am
  • Week 2: Monday to Thursday 2pm-10pm, Friday 11am-4pm

During training and induction, operational hours will be 07:30-16:30 Monday to Thursday and 07:30-12:30 Friday.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver Maintenance & TPM, including breakdown support across the Luton site.
  • Build close working relationships with operational teams and stakeholders.
  • Communicate goals and deadlines to team members.
  • Plan workloads and delegate tasks.
  • Create a productive work environment and assess team performance.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and daily operations.
  • Perform internal customer service and communicate recent developments and policies.
  • Coach team members, develop strengths, and identify areas for improvement.
Profile description:

How You'll Contribute: To make a difference, you should bring passion, talent, and the following skills, experience, qualifications, and attributes:

  • Essential: Electrical Engineering City & Guilds qualification or relevant NVQ
  • Completion of a relevant apprenticeship
  • Extensive experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in industrial maintenance or works engineering
  • Subject matter expertise in electrical machinery and systems
  • Experience with SCADA systems (e.g., Prodigy, Plantrun)
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Understanding of Risk Assessments and statutory compliance
  • Experience developing and implementing maintenance plans, processes, and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Desirable:

  • Experience leading a team
  • Experience with PLCs
  • Qualified to 18th Edition or holding a relevant HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering
