Project Partners is seeking an Electrical Coordinator to supervise and coordinate electrical maintenance across Rugby Plant and associated sites. You will drive safety, reliability, and compliance with UK legislation while managing contractors and daily maintenance plans.

The role requires HV qualifications, VSDs/VFDs experience, and a background in electrical engineering with cost control and reporting responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Apprenticeship or formal qualification in electrical engineering.
  • HV qualification and practical experience up to 11 kV required.
  • Experience with HV motors, switchgear, and VSDs/VFDs.
  • Experience in cement or heavy process industries preferred.
  • Experience managing external contractors is required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise electrical maintenance at Rugby Plant to ensure zero-harm compliance.
  • Coordinate daily, weekly and monthly maintenance plans and labour.
  • Lead maintenance strategies and plant reliability improvements.
  • Monitor budget, costs and ensure documentation in line with HSE & CDM.
  • Produce reports for maintenance management and RCA tracking.
  • Ensure plant shutdowns are safely planned and executed.

Job description

Salary: Up to and around £50k depending on candidate experience

Type: Permanent, Full-time, Mon - Fri

The purpose of this role is to supervise and coordinate the efficient execution of electrical engineering and maintenance work to deliver excellence in plant reliability within the defined section and elsewhere as necessary, whilst meeting safety, health, environmental and financial targets. You will be managing and documenting any system changes and being the main point of contact for system providers and Engineers. You will support and enforce all Maintenance strategies and policies at the Plant, enforcing safe operations and maintaining environmental compliance to achieve zero accidents and incidents based on UK legislation and company policies to support the goal of continued license to operate and prevent injuries.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate delivery of an electrical physical environment at Rugby Plant (Raw Materials, Cement mills, Alternative Fuels, Kiln and Packing plant) to support the objective of zero harm to employees, contractors, and visitors
  • Creating a cultural environment so that all persons under the supervision of the job holder look after themselves and others, including contractors, and suffer zero harm.
  • Contribute as a member of the engineering & maintenance management team to formulate the plants maintenance strategies, playing a role in the decision‑making process on a continual basis. Taking lead role on defined area electric issues.
  • Supervise and coordinate the deployment of allocated internal or external labour and the efficient execution of the daily, weekly and monthly maintenance plan within the defined area at Rugby and Southam.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Planning Department to ensure suitable parts, labour and equipment are available to deliver the maintenance plan.
  • Collaborate with the Reliability Department to ensure inspection results and actions are taken to deliver reliability targets.
  • Coordinate deployment of allocated labour, parts, and equipment resources to ensure all are deployed cost effectively and optimized.
  • Manage allocated maintenance technicians concerning their productivity, motivation, and discipline. Monitor performance of own staff and contractors and ensure jobs proceeding to plan.
  • Complete annual individual development plans with members of the team.
  • Take action to recover the maintenance plan when unforeseen work disrupts the plan.
  • Supervise the carrying out of preventative maintenance inspections and procedures to prevent unplanned stoppages.
  • Produce timely reports and analysis for the maintenance management team to assist decision making.
  • Relevant KPIs: Completion of plan, completion of work orders on SAP, reactive/preventative maintenance ratio, and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Planning and coordinating the maintenance aspects of the annual plant shutdown within the agreed structure, collaborating with other disciplines so that plant safety is ensured, reliability and efficiency is optimized in assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Be responsible under CDM Regulations for defined areas of the plant during the shutdown period.
  • Monitor the budget on a daily basis in the defined area, identifying deviations and taking corresponding corrective actions to ensure the performance is monitored and controlled to meet the agreed budgets.
  • Carry out systematic checks to ensure the maintenance team is issued and archiving the correct documentation in relation to Health and Safety, the Environment, and all legal requirements in defined area of responsibility.
  • Motivate & develop maintenance technicians so that the required level of skill and knowledge is acquired and retained, and motivation is high. Ensure new starters are developed and trained to acceptable experience levels.
Candidate Experience Required:
  • Bachelor (degree) Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Technical studies Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship
  • Proven experience in Health and Safety with an accredited certificate (such as IOSH / NEBOSH) preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Coordinator/Supervisor, Electrical Team Leader, or Graduate Electrical Engineer in a cement plant (preferably with a pre‑calciner kiln) or other heavy process industries such as mining, power generation, oil and gas, or waste‑to‑energy plants preferred.
  • Previous experience in budget planning and cost control preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and supervising external contractors is required.
  • Completion of a recognised apprenticeship, NVQ (or equivalent), National Certificate, or Diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • High Voltage (HV) qualification with practical experience working on electrical systems up to 11 kV, including HV motors and switchgear, is required. Proven experience with Variable Speed Drives (VSDs/VFDs) is required.
  • Experience with field instrumentation, including installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of PC programmes: MS Office, SAP, Microsoft Project
