Overview

Electrical Maintenance Shift Technician – Doncaster

Salary: 49.5k + overtime. Hours: 6am–6pm and 6pm–6am on a 12-hour shift (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off) over an 8-week rolling rota.

Environment: Heavy industrial, processing plant. This role wouldn’t suit someone who likes a spotless working environment.

Location: Doncaster

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a multi-skilled team handling the day-to-day maintenance of all industrial plant and machinery.
  • Install and maintain new and existing equipment, ensuring production is not interrupted.
  • Assist with hands-on electrical engineering routines in accordance with planned preventative maintenance programmes and emergency breakdowns.
  • Conduct risk assessments on all jobs before undertaking any work and comply with all health and safety procedures.
  • Assist other mechanical/operational departments as required.
Requirements
  • Proven electrical experience in a heavy industry, manufacturing or process environment.
  • A recognised electrical engineering apprenticeship, preferably with a City & Guilds or equivalent NVQ qualification.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to plan and work to tight timelines while managing several tasks.
  • Knowledge of PLCs as well as pneumatic and hydraulic components.
  • Strong communication and IT skills.
