Job description

Electrical Engineer

Yolk Recruitment is actively working with a world-leading specialist manufacturer in the heart of Pontypool. They are experiencing a period of exponential growth, with significant investment planned for 2025. They are seeking an Electrically Bias Maintenance Engineer to join their team.

Role Overview

As an Electrical Engineer, your responsibilities will include working on a 3-shift pattern (Mornings/Afternoons/Nights), overseeing a busy manufacturing/production area, and handling all aspects of machinery breakdown and upgrades.

Key Tasks
  • Maintaining and repairing equipment according to schedules and specifications to ensure reliability and minimize breakdowns.
  • Testing, fault finding, and repairing equipment.
  • Identifying recurring issues with machinery and implementing corrective actions through root cause analysis.
  • Completing machine installation and commissioning.
  • Performing PLC fault finding, including Siemens S7 and Allen Bradley systems.
  • Maintaining tools and repair equipment to ensure they are fit for purpose.
  • Supporting continuous improvement activities on site.
Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or an HNC equivalent.
  • Time-served, apprentice-trained Multi-skilled Engineer.
Benefits

If successful, you will receive a competitive salary up to £42,000, a benefits package, and opportunities for salary progression up to £44,000 through competency-based training. The company offers career development opportunities, including further educational studies.
