Job summary

Synergi Recruitment is working with a leading food manufacturing business in Northampton to recruit an electrically biased, multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer for a permanent day shift.

The role involves PPM and reactive maintenance on high-speed packaging and processing equipment, fault-finding on electrical and mechanical systems, and updating CMMS records while upholding food safety standards. A long-term opportunity with overtime is available.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification (Electrical or Mechanical).
• Electrically biased with strong multi-skilled maintenance experience.
• Minimum 5 years' food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience working within a fast-paced FMCG or food production environment.
• Strong fault-finding skills on PLC-controlled machinery.
• Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Must live within approximately 30 minutes of Northampton.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs.
• Fault find on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Work on high-speed production, packaging and processing equipment.
• Ensure machinery operates safely, efficiently and reliably.
• Complete maintenance documentation and update CMMS records.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications and upgrades.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, quality and health & safety compliance.
