Job Description:

Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer who would like the opportunity to work for a world renowned precision engineering company based in the beautiful city of Plymouth? If so we would like to hear from you! This role will give you the opportunity to utlise your electrical skills within a fast paced environment. Working within the Maintenance Team, you will be responsible for preventative maintenance on machines and equipment as well as responding to emergency machine break downs throughout the plant. This role will include involvement with new design, commissioning & de-commissioning of machinery, movements of existing machinery and overhaul and repair of machines and equipment. You will ensure machines and equipment on site meet company Health and Safety regulations, and ensure that machines and equipment are working efficiently and are fit for purpose. You will provide an effective and prompt service in electrical diagnosis, repair and rebuild of site, plant, production equipment, premises and services ensuring that objectives/targets for cost, quality and timeliness are achieved. Key Responsibilities:

  • To carry out all the duties and responsibilities of a Electrical Maintenance Fitter as requested by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Carry out fault finding diagnostics on PLC and CNC Machinery.
  • Carry out reactive and Planned Preventative Maintenance on PLC and CNC Machinery.
  • Maintain, service, repair and calibrate all electronic devices such as Electronic Guaging Equipment.
  • Provide advisory and expert focus for all electronic and electrical aspects linked to the full range of site maintenance department activities, for example with the design control/operating programs for CNC systems on new & existing production equipment.
  • Assist in electronic design, fabrication of machinery and test equipment as required by the Company.
  • Establish and fully maintain all associated record systems, whether hard copy of bespoke computer software orientated.
  • Prepare and maintain all associated project, training/operating/preventative maintenance, documentation/instructions/manuals.
  • Compile electrical and electronic technical drawings of plant and machinery wiring and control systems when manufactured or modified by the Company.
  • Undertake every task to the highest possible quality standard and to always ensure internal and external customer satisfaction through the adherence to proper procedures.

Essential Knowledge, Experience and Candidate Attributes required:

  • A recognised Electrical Apprenticeship for example City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation qualified or equivalent.
  • Recent, Proven experience working as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in a fast paced Manufacturing or Engineering environment.
  • Experience reading ladder logic to diagnose faults on PLCs.
  • Experience with Machine Tool Electronics

The successful candidate will be working day shift of Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm, once trained and fully competent there will be the opportunity to work overtime.
