Qualifications and Skills
  • Knowledge of Process controls (Siemens or Allen Bradley), PLCs, 18th edition all desirable
  • Background in Food or Agriculture Engineering or Maintenance
Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 7:00-16:00 or 8:00-17:00

On-Call Duty

On-call every other week/3 weeks, with a minimum pay of 3 hours per call, even if on-site for 30 mins. Additional pay applies if called out the next day.

Duties of Electrical Maintenance Engineer
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Operate within health & safety requirements and company procedures.
  • Daily Maintenance Tasks: Conduct daily tasks like greasing, inspection, and repair of processing equipment.
  • Record Keeping: Update maintenance records accurately.
  • Breakdown Assistance: Assist with breakdowns, repairs, or projects as required.
  • Training Needs Identification: Identify personal training needs and inform management.
  • Task Delegation: Perform tasks delegated by Maintenance or Mill Managers.
  • Tool Maintenance: Keep tools and equipment in good condition and secure after use.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an effective spares inventory system.
  • Tool & Equipment Requests: Notify managers for new tools or equipment needed.
  • Scope of Authority: Sign for supplier deliveries on behalf of the company.
Performance Criteria
  • Maintain protective clothing and appearance.
  • Keep work areas and records tidy and organized.
  • Complete documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Reduce machinery failure through proper maintenance.
  • Follow company procedures.
  • Maintain positive relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Be punctual and efficient with time.
  • Maintain excellent attendance.
Physical and Other Requirements
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Clerical and administrative skills.
  • Experience in electrical/mechanical maintenance, electrical preferred.
  • Health status suitable for the job (Health Record).
  • Valid driving license.
