Job description
Overview

Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Location: Droitwich. Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Flexible). Salary: £45,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications).

Training Requirements
  • Complete all required and appropriate training.
  • Maintain up-to-date training records.
  • If holding a forklift licence, receive specific spill control training.
Job Purpose

To support and improve production efficiency through proactive and reactive maintenance of electrical systems and associated equipment. This includes fault diagnosis, repair, installation, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and ensure high safety and reliability across plant operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Planned Maintenance
    • Execute preventative maintenance (PM) tasks as scheduled and coordinated with departmental managers.
    • Maintain accurate records of PM activities.
    • Assist in managing spare parts inventory.
  2. Reactive Maintenance
    • Prioritize and conduct emergency repairs to minimize downtime across production equipment.
    • Diagnose faults in electrical systems, including PLCs, motors, sensors, and control panels.
  3. General Maintenance
    • Perform general electrical maintenance throughout the factory and office areas.
    • Support mechanical maintenance tasks such as fitting and equipment strip down.
    • Assist with routine testing for electrical safety compliance.
  4. Improvement and Project Work
    • Support engineering projects to improve plant reliability, efficiency, and safety.
    • Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Health, Safety & Environment
  • Comply with all health, safety, and environmental legislation and company policies.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all work areas.
  • Ensure all environmental procedures and controls are followed.
Additional Requirements
  • Willingness to work outside normal hours during shutdowns, holidays, or emergency situations as per company call-out policies.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science.
  • HNC/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent vocational qualification.
  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Maintenance.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
