Job summary

Aspion Search is recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join an established manufacturing business in Wirral. You will support safe, reliable operation of production machinery and site services, covering planned maintenance, breakdowns, electrical installations and related improvements.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will work with PLCs, HMIs and control systems, read electrical drawings, and maintain accurate maintenance records in a hands-on, days-based role with an early

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 18th Edition wiring regulations qualification.
• Recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent practical training.
• At least five years’ experience in electrical engineering within manufacturing.
• Strong fault-finding across production machinery and control systems.
• Experience with planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and electrical installations.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and work independently.
• Practical mechanical maintenance skills.
• Understanding of safe isolation and electrical working practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical maintenance and repairs across production machinery, site services and building installations.
• Complete planned preventive maintenance and address defects.
• Diagnose and repair faults on machinery and industrial control systems.
• Work with PLC-controlled equipment, HMIs, VSDs, motors, sensors and safety circuits.
• Support equipment installations, control modifications and machinery improvement projects.
• Read electrical drawings, update documentation and maintain maintenance records.
• Undertake mechanical fault finding and repairs within your competence.
• Identify recurring faults and implement improvements to reduce downtime and costs.
• Follow safe isolation, lockout and site permit procedures.
• Collaborate with production teams, contractors and other engineers.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will support the safe and reliable operation of production machinery and site services. Your role will cover planned maintenance, breakdowns, electrical installations and improvement projects, alongside mechanical maintenance within your skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out electrical maintenance and repairs across production machinery, site services and building installations.

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation or a relevant electrical discipline.
• 18th Edition wiring regulations qualification.
• A recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent practical training.
• At least five years’ relevant electrical engineering experience within manufacturing.
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills across production machinery and industrial control systems.
• Experience carrying out planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and electrical installations.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and work independently.
• Practical mechanical maintenance skills.
• A thorough understanding of safe isolation and electrical working practices.
