Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £58,000 + overtime (time and a half, double time on Sundays)Hours: 40 per week - rotating shifts (Mon-Thurs: 6-2 / 2-10 / 10-6, Fri: 6-11 / 11-4 / 4-9)Benefits: 25 days holiday + bank holidays, matched pension contributions up to 6%, additional holiday cover pay

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team. In this hands-on role, you will carry out both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of machinery, ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum and equipment operates at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct reactive maintenance and fault finding on electrical systems

  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) to maintain reliability

  • Diagnose and repair issues with motors, drives, sensors, relays, and PLCs

  • Work from electrical diagrams and technical manuals

  • Maintain safe working practices and comply with H&S regulations

  • Collaborate with team members to deliver engineering excellence

Skills & Experience

  • Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification (or equivalent)

  • Proven track record in an electrical maintenance role

  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC motors, inverter drives, electrical schematics

  • Competence in PLC fault finding and input/output systems

  • Background in manufacturing or heavy industry (desirable)

  • Proactive, reliable, and able to work under pressure in a team environment
