Job description

Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Stevenage

Our defence client is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a 12-month initial contract basis in Stevenage. This role involves maintaining critical equipment, focusing on electrical systems, and ensuring operational availability.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Electrical Apprenticeship and Level 3 competency-based qualification (e.g., NVQ or HNC Electrical Manufacturing)
  • Experience with preventative maintenance and fault-finding on electronic manufacturing machinery
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Experience with manufacturing process equipment (desirable)
  • Knowledge of vibration shakers and environmental chambers (desirable)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical approach
  • Understanding of SAP (desirable)
  • IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671 18th Edition) and In-Service Inspection & Testing standards (preferable)
  • Ability to obtain SC clearance
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance on process equipment and environmental stress screening facilities
  • Diagnose faults and conduct repairs to component level using schematics and manuals
  • Support operations with maintenance tasks and provide technical guidance
  • Update spares packages to minimize downtime
  • Manage maintenance and breakdown contracts
  • Ensure safety standards compliance and conduct safety inspections
  • Support faults on extraction units, motors, electrical safety testing, and panels
  • Develop maintenance schedules and protocols in collaboration with teams

  • Position based in Stevenage; site-based with standard working hours
  • Role created to support ongoing projects within the Calibration and Maintenance Department
