Overview

Electrical Maintenance Engineer

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company based in Poole.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance on production equipment and site systems.
  • Install, modify and commission new manufacturing equipment, ensuring compliance with electrical and safety standards.
  • Inspect, test, and maintain electrical panels, control gear, isolators, and low-voltage systems.
  • Build and modify electrical distribution boxes and control panels to support machinery upgrades.
  • Perform fault finding and repairs on electrical and electronic components, including PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Carry out isolations, safety checks, and electrical repairs in line with site procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate fault reports, maintenance records, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Additional tasks, duties and responsibilities that are within your capabilities as the Company may from time-to-time require.
  • Comply with company QSHE policies and procedures as well as any other QSHE requirements of the role.
Ideal Experience
  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Maintenance (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
  • Proven industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or process environment.
  • Strong competence in safe isolation, routine fault finding, and interpreting electrical schematics.
  • Experience working with electrical panels, distribution boards, and control systems.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and deliver solutions under pressure.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and electronics
  • Experience working with extruders
  • Forklift licence would be advantageous.
Salary

£35,000 - £40,000

Hours

Monday to Friday 7.00am - 3.30pm
