Electrical Maintenance Engineer
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to carry out PPM and Reactive activities in accordance with contractual agreements for Liverpool University.
Day-to-day duties include:
- Maintain a close working relationship with the Engineering Team, Contract Delivery Manager, and Engineering Manager.
- Attend all allocated training courses.
- Complete SFG20/HTM PPMs, reactive and proactive tasks, and update the CAFM system via PDA.
- Ensure daily checks are completed and defects are reported or repaired.
- Maintain accurate records for PPM and reactive works.
- Ensure electrical engineering standards are maintained for efficient operation and reliability.
- Report accidents and near misses.
- Supervise ongoing works, issues, and housekeeping standards.
- Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Record statutory inspections and electrical work accurately.
- Attend out-of-hours calls and provide site cover when required.
- Monitor third-party contractors' performance and standards.
- Inspect and sign off on work by Specialist Service Providers.
- Maintain cleanliness in plant areas, workshops, and rest areas.
- Operate and troubleshoot building systems such as BMS, air conditioning, water services, fire systems, electrical systems, and medical equipment.
Essential skills, knowledge, and experience:
- C&G Level 2 and 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation.
- C&G 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or 2330 Levels 2 & 3.
- Basic plumbing skills.
- Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems.
- Experience with building fabric repairs.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Availability for out-of-hours work and call-outs.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to work independently or in a team.
