Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer with proven skills in Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) to join our client. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining electrical systems, performing inspections and tests, ensuring safety compliance, and documenting test results according to current regulations and company standards.

Hours of work- 6am until 2pm/ 7am until 3pm

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular PAT testing of electrical appliances in accordance with IEE Code of Practice and safety regulations.

  • Inspect, test, and maintain a variety of electrical systems and equipment in commercial, industrial, or residential settings.

  • Diagnose electrical faults and repair or replace faulty components as needed.

  • Ensure all testing equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.

  • Record and maintain accurate documentation of all PAT tests and results.

  • Provide technical support and advice to clients or internal departments.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies.

  • Assist in electrical installations, upgrades, and preventive maintenance tasks as required.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer or Electrician.

  • Certification or qualification in PAT Testing (e.g., City & Guilds 2377).

  • Recognized electrical engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ, HNC/HND, Degree in Electrical Engineering).

  • Strong knowledge of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and electrical safety standards.

  • Good understanding of electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.

  • Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills.

  • Strong problem-solving ability and communication skills.

  • Full UK driving licence (if role involves travel to client sites).

Desirable:
  • ECS/CSCS card.

  • Experience in facility maintenance or working in a multi-site environment.

  • Familiarity with asset management systems or digital PAT testing tools.
