Job Description:

Help us make a difference as a Shift Electrical Technician at our West Sussex MBT/AD facility.

Shift Pattern is Monday to Friday with 1 out of 4 Saturdays.

Week one - 06:45 - 14:45

Week two - 14:30 - 22:30

Role overview:

The role involves managing engineering activities at Biffa MBT facility to ensure operational efficiency. Responsibilities include performing PPMs, reactive maintenance, engineering tasks, and process improvements, while maintaining high standards of plant availability, safety, and compliance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responding to machinery breakdowns and performing planned maintenance and projects. Electrical work includes sensors, relays, motors, contactors, control panels, and PLCs. Fault finding on PLCs, preferably Siemens S7.
  • Supporting maintenance in manufacturing or industrial environments. Must be electrically qualified and competent.
  • Reporting accidents, incidents, and near misses immediately.
  • Maintaining housekeeping standards.
  • Motor fault diagnosis, MCC layout familiarity.
  • Working with controls and instrumentation, reading electrical drawings, and diagnosing faults.

Minimum requirements:

  • HNC Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • BS7671 18th edition (advantageous)
  • Experience in similar roles such as Electrical Engineer, Maintenance Electrician, Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, etc.
