Overview

Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Poole | £35K to £40K (DOE) | Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

TeamJobs is searching for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing company in Poole. This is a full-time, permanent position where you will play a key role in keeping production running smoothly and driving continuous improvements across the site.

What you will be doing
  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment and site systems.
  • Installing, modifying, and commissioning new manufacturing equipment to meet the latest electrical and safety standards.
  • Inspecting, testing, and maintaining electrical panels, isolators, control gear, and low-voltage systems.
  • Building and modifying electrical distribution boxes and control panels.
  • Performing fault-finding and repairs on electrical/electronic components, including PLC-controlled machinery.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and improve reliability.
What we are looking for
  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Maintenance (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
  • Proven experience in industrial electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or process environment.
  • Strong competence in safe isolation, fault finding, and reading schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical panels, distribution boards, and control systems.
Desirable extras
  • Knowledge of PLCs and electronics.
  • Experience working with extruders.
  • Forklift licence.
