Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a full-time Electrical Maintenance Engineer in Cramlington. The role involves diagnosing and repairing electrical systems and assisting with installations. Ideal candidates should have an apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical engineering, high voltage skills, and experience with PLC systems. Competitive salary of £37,500 per year with early finishes on Fridays.

Qualifications

  • Electrical/Mechanical based apprenticeship with City & Guilds or equivalent qualifications.
  • High Voltage Industrial Electrical Skills preferred.
  • Experience working with both PLC and Fanuc control systems desirable.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Current holder of 17/18th Edition high voltage certification.

Overview

Join Our Team as a Days only Electrical Maintenance Engineer with early finish Friday!

Location: Cramlington

Salary: £37,500 per year

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, days only (12:00 early finish Friday)

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair faults in electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.
  • Respond swiftly to breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain production flow.
  • Work with PLCs, motor controls, drives, sensors, and automation systems.
  • Program and maintain robotic systems.
  • Installation & Upgrades: Assist with the installation, testing, and commissioning of new electrical systems and equipment.
  • Support projects focused on machinery upgrades, automation, and energy efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Electrical/Mechanical based apprenticeship with City & Guilds or equivalent qualifications
  • High Voltage Industrial Electrical Skills (preferable)
  • Experience working with both PLC and Fanuc control systems would be desirable
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatic
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Current holder of 17/18th Edition
  • Knowledge of SAP (desirable)
