Job summary

Yolk Recruitment Limited is partnering with a well-known manufacturing business in the Chard area to recruit an Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer. You will join an established engineering team keeping production equipment and facilities running efficiently through planned and reactive maintenance.

You will work across a varied manufacturing environment with a double days shift, early Friday finish, and opportunities for overtime alongside a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Electrical fault-finding on production equipment and systems.
• Experience with three-phase systems and control panels.
• NVQ/City & Guilds/apprenticeship in electrical engineering is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Fault finding on electrical and mechanical production equipment.
• Working on three-phase systems, motors, drives, relays, sensors, contactors and control panels.
• Supporting reactive breakdowns and planned preventative maintenance schedules.
• Carrying out mechanical maintenance including bearings, chains, gearboxes, belts and conveyors.
• Assisting with continuous improvement and project work across the site.
• Ensuring all engineering activities are completed safely and in line with site standards.
• Supporting production teams to maximise machine uptime and reliability.

Salary: Up to £44,000 + Benefits
Shift: Double Days (Early Friday Finish every week)

This is what you'll be doing

As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll be part of an experienced engineering team responsible for keeping production equipment and facilities running efficiently through both planned and reactive maintenance activities.

You'll be working across a varied manufacturing environment, supporting continuous improvement and ensuring machinery downtime is kept to a minimum.

Key responsibilities:

• Fault finding on electrical and mechanical production equipment
• Working on three-phase systems, motors, drives, relays, sensors, contactors and control panels
• Supporting reactive breakdowns and planned preventative maintenance schedules
• Carrying out mechanical maintenance including bearings, chains, gearboxes, belts and conveyors
• Assisting with continuous improvement and project work across the site
• Ensuring all engineering activities are completed safely and in line with site standards
• Supporting production teams to maximise machine uptime and reliability

The experience you'll bring to the team

• Previous experience within a manufacturing or production maintenance environment
• Electrically biased preferred with a min NVQ level 2 electrical qualification
• Comfortable working on both electrical and mechanical systems
• Experience with inverters/VSDs, panels, motors and production machinery
• Engineering qualifications such as NVQ, City & Guilds, apprenticeship or equivalent would be beneficial
• A proactive and team-focused attitude
