From our foundations in 1858 we’ve helped shape the UK; powering the construction of homes and hospitals, roads and railways, schools and cities alike.

But as our industry enables growth, it must also change. Tackling the very real carbon and climate challenges demands real action. That’s why our mission is to make sustainable construction a reality.

With 4,000 colleagues across 200+ sites, we’re passionate about helping Britain grow and thrive — doing the right thing, doing it together and making a difference. Working hand in hand with our customers and communities to deliver value from foundation to rooftop and build a more sustainable future for all of us.

The Opportunity

Join Holcim as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, working a Monday to Friday double days rotation, where you’ll maintain automated fixed and mobile block manufacturing infrastructure across multiple factories on site. This role is key to ensuring production efficiency, minimising downtime, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll work alongside engineers, production staff, and technicians, playing a vital role in electrical maintenance, inspections, and system optimisation.

  • Lead electrical maintenance and inspection activities, ensuring equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Occasional out-of-hours breakdown support and conduct preventative maintenance.
  • Work to ISO 9001, 14001, and 18001 standards, ensuring compliance with safety, productivity, and housekeeping regimes.
  • Mentor and support an electrical apprentice, fostering skill development within the team.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, reducing downtime and enhancing production performance.

Who You Are

You’re a proactive and detail-oriented Electrical Maintenance Engineer with expertise in process control, automation, and plant maintenance. Your strong problem-solving abilities and technical skills make you an essential part of any engineering team.

  • Proven experience in an electrical engineering role, with a background in maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting.
  • Completed electrical apprenticeship with qualifications such as City & Guilds, B Tech, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. 18th Edition Electrical Installation is required.
  • Competency in hydraulics, pneumatics, and preventative maintenance systems would be a benefit but training can be provided.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and highly organised, with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and management.

Competitive Salary, plus bonus, 25 days holiday + your local bank holidays (with options to increase) and other benefits - all recognising the contribution you bring.

️ Be valued and supported, working as part of a highly respected team in a business that has a huge focus on Health & Safety.

We care about you and your family. That’s why we offer enhanced family benefits, including maternity, paternity, and adoption leave. We understand that your personal life and family well-being are just as important as your career, so we’re committed to supporting you every step of the way.

Be part of something bigger with our "Women Empowered - Stronger Together Mentor Program," designed to support, inspire, and uplift women across the business. This initiative pairs women with mentors, creating a powerful support network that promotes career growth and personal development.

Opportunities for career progression both at home and abroad (via our parent company Holcim).
