Job summary

South Essex College Group seeks a Lecturer in Electrical to deliver engaging FE programmes, covering Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications. You will teach theory and practical skills in well-equipped workshops, assess progress, and provide constructive feedback to help learners excel.

You will keep content current with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and evolving technologies such as renewables, while supporting learners with career guidance and industry placements.

Qualifications

• Electrical Installation qualification (Level 2+) required.
• Experience as an electrician or similar role.
• Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
• Up-to-date knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
• Strong communication skills and ability to inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to CPD and keeping pace with industry changes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging FE electrical lessons across Level 1 and Level 2 programmes.
• Teach theory and practical skills in fully equipped workshops.
• Assess learners’ progress through practicals, assignments and exams with constructive feedback.
• Keep teaching current by integrating industry standards and new technologies.
• Support learners with career guidance, employability skills and industry placements or apprenticeships.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching resources.
