MEP - Electrical Lead

We're seeking an experienced Electrical Lead to support the delivery of a major light rail transit (LRT) project in Edmonton. This role involves overseeing electrical systems and equipment from design through to installation and commissioning. You'll work closely with contractors, engineers, and project managers to ensure everything runs smoothly, safely, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review shop drawings and assist with turnover planning.
  • Track major equipment schedules and coordinate with engineers.
  • Develop tender packages and support procurement processes.
  • Manage the lifecycle of purchased equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Monitor project schedules and flag potential delays.
  • Oversee installation of electrical systems and components.
  • Liaise with contractors and project teams to resolve issues.
  • Participate in project meetings and maintain documentation.
  • Provide technical support and interpret designs for site teams.
  • Track RFIs, drawings, and other project documents.
  • Support commissioning and integration of life safety systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or relevant trade certification with equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience on railway or large infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, fire suppression, and building management systems.
  • Familiarity with Canadian codes and standards.
  • Ability to work on-site in varying weather and terrain conditions.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with BIM tools, JD Edwards, Aconex, Excel, and Bluebeam.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines and teams.
