Job summary

COWI is seeking an Electrical Design Lead to drive the electrical design strategy for large-scale data centre projects. Based in London, the role involves leading MV/LV power distribution design, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering clean, reliable electrical infrastructure from concept through commissioning.

You will mentor engineers, supervise design work, and ensure quality and compliance with standards while supporting procurement and commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience delivering technically sound solutions as a discipline lead.
• Proficient with Amtech and digital design tools; BIM experience with Revit/OpenBuildings.
• Familiarity with energy reduction methods and sustainable design.
• Awareness of EN 50600, TIA 942 and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of MV/LV power distribution for data centres.
• Coordinate electrical building services including lighting, fire, security, earthing.
• Review designs, calculations, reports and documentation for compliance.
• Mentor electrical engineers and designers within the discipline.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver integrated solutions.
• Conduct technical assurance reviews and manage design risks and changes.
• Support procurement with evaluations and vendor submissions.
• Participate in commissioning, testing and handover activities.
• Ensure adherence to quality management and project delivery processes.
• Promote health, safety, sustainability and resilience best practices.
