Electrical Installation Skills Coach

ROLE DESCRIPTION

As our Electrical Installation department continues to grow at West Lancashire College, we are excited to recruit a Skills Coach for Electrical Installation. As a Skills Coach you will play a key role in helping our students develop practical skills and knowledge to succeed in the electrical industry. You will provide high-quality, hands-on training, coaching, and assessment in both classroom and workshop settings. Your role will involve supporting learners on their journey to becoming competent, skilled professionals ready for the workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver practical and theory-based training in Electrical Installation to learners at various levels.
  • Assess students' progress and provide regular feedback on performance.
  • Support students in achieving their qualifications, including Functional Skills if applicable.
  • Ensure a high level of learner engagement and progress through regular reviews and feedback.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the industry, and relevant regulations, and incorporate this into training and delivery.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring it is aligned with industry standards and meets the needs of the learners.
  • Support the college's apprenticeship and training programs, liaising with employers and stakeholders as required.
  • Act as a mentor to learners, offering guidance on career development and personal growth.
