Job summary

The South Hampshire College Group is seeking a Lecturer in Electrical Installation to deliver theory and practical sessions across Levels 1–3. You will lead courses, plan assessments, and monitor progress, while organising work placements and liaising with employers.

You will support learners through tutorials and pastoral care, maintain records, contribute to QA and curriculum development, and participate in college events and CPD activities.

Qualifications

• Must hold GCSE Grade 4/C (or equivalent) in Maths and English
• Must have Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation
• Desirable: ECS Gold Card and AM2 Certificate
• Desirable: Level 5 Teaching qualification or commitment to achieve
• Desirable: Assessor/IQA Award, 18th edition and related qualifications
• Desirable: relevant degree or professional qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver teaching across Electrical Installation, including theory, practical skills, inspection&testing, fault diagnosis and design.
• Plan, prepare and assess learning, including marking, feedback, tutorials and pastoral support.
• Act as Course Leader for designated programmes, overseeing delivery, assessment schedules and student progress.
• Support learner progression towards full occupational competence and End Point Assessment.
• Maintain accurate records including attendance, performance and data returns.
• Organise work placements and liaise with employers and external bodies.
• Contribute to curriculum development, QA, self-assessment and improvement.
• Participate in college events and student engagement activities.
• Maintain professional competence through CPD and teaching observations.
• Ensure strong teaching and delivery across Levels 1-3.
