ATA Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Birmingham to ensure reliability of manufacturing equipment. The role is heavily electrical with fault-finding focus, supporting production teams to minimise downtime.

You will work on PLC-controlled systems, read electrical drawings, and contribute to continuous improvement with an experienced team. A days-based, Monday–Friday schedule and a basic salary of £45,000 are offered.

Formación

• Experience in heavy electrical maintenance within a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings/schematics.
• Experience with PLC-controlled machinery and automation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of a range of manufacturing and production equipment across the facility.

This position is heavily electrically biased and would suit an engineer who enjoys fault finding, problem solving and working closely with production teams to minimise downtime.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment and possess strong electrical maintenance skills.

Essential Skills

• Electrical fault-finding experience
• Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings
• Experience working within manufacturing, production or industrial environments
• Understanding of PLC-controlled machinery
• Experience working on automated or heavy industrial equipment
• Strong problem-solving ability
• A hands-on approach and willingness to get involved across the site

Desirable Experience

• Siemens S7 PLC fault finding
• Allen Bradley exposure
• Presses, automated machinery or heavy engineering equipment
• Manufacturing sectors such as automotive, aerospace, foundry, metals, building products or similar industries
