Job description

Electrical Installation Engineer - Rental Team
Location: Portsmouth (must live within 20-25 miles)
Salary: 40,000 - 42,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday (standard hours) + on-call rota (1 in 4)

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Installation Engineer to join their specialist rental team based in Portsmouth.

This hands-on role involves installing, commissioning, servicing, and repairing 3 phase pumps, motors, and control equipment (including VFDs and soft start drives) for various sites across Portsmouth and the surrounding area. You'll play a vital role in temporary installations and reactive call outs for essential equipment across a variety of environments.

Responsibilities:

• Support the rental team with temporary installations, repairs, and refurbishments of submersible and surface-mounted pumping equipment, sewage systems, and treatment plants.

• Perform reactive maintenance, requiring quick thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Connect electrical systems to control boards (mechanical work handled by others).

• Isolate, dismantle, and inspect pumping equipment.

• Install and commission temporary rental equipment, often in tight spaces.

• Drive a company vehicle as needed.

• Maintain a flexible working attitude to meet project demands.

Qualifications Required:

• City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 (or equivalent)

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

• City & Guilds Inspection & Testing

• Completed Electrical Apprenticeship

• ECS/JIB Gold Card
