Job summary

Heated Mechanical Services is seeking an Electrical Improver for a long-term electrical programme at the Houses of Parliament in Westminster. Working alongside qualified electricians, you will assist with investigating existing electrical systems, identifying circuits and components, and carrying out remedial, rectification and upgrade works on a sensitive historic site.

This role offers reliable, ongoing work on a high-profile government building.

Qualifications

• Parliament Pass preferred or held previously.
• ECS/CSCS card or equivalent required.
• Asbestos Awareness certificate.
• Working at Heights certificate.
• Good communication skills and basic IT literacy (emails, marking up PDFs/drawings).
• Reliable, punctual and able to commit to ongoing, long-term work.
• Experience surveying existing electrical systems and tracing circuits beneficial.
• Experience on commercial electrical sites is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist with surveys and investigations of existing electrical systems.
• Help trace and identify electrical circuits and components.
• Support remedial and rectification works.
• Assist with redundancy removals, metering installations and system upgrades.
• Label equipment and record site observations accurately.
• Mark up and update electrical drawings and schematics.
• Maintain records of completed works and progress.
• Work closely with electricians, site teams and project management.
• Follow all site safety procedures and working practices.
