Job description

The electrical improver will be part of our installation teams working on the Integrated.

Operational Solutions (IOS) Framework for the Anglian Water AMP 8 Programme. This is a long-term opportunity - we are looking at a further 10 years of work.

This role requires installing electrical equipment at predominantly Anglian Water clean water and wastewater sites, ensuring that health and safety are always adhered to and that issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • An enthusiastic semi-qualified electrician to work with a fully qualified Electrician on industrial projects.
  • Experience in industrial installations, including but not limited to steel containment, power, and ICA wiring, telemetry & fault finding would be beneficial; however, experience will be gained on the job.
  • Willing to work away from home for short periods (Project & training dependent)
  • Keen to fulfil customers' targets, involving overtime when required.
  • To uphold the company values and safety ethics.
  • As experience is gained, further responsibilities can be added to your role as confidence grows.

Key measures & targets:

  • As part of joining this team, you will be enrolled on an NVQ Level 3 college course to gain AM2 and ECS Gold Card (Approved Electrician Status).
  • Your progress will be monitored by the college and during Personal Development Review sessions with your Line Manager.
  • Your abilities and skills will be recorded regularly to ensure you are progressing, and specific attention can be given to areas which require further improvement.

Key relationships:

  • You will directly report to your Fully Qualified Electrician, Electrical Supervisor & Electrical Authorised Person
  • You will be part of a team that will report to the Mechanical & Electrical Manager for IOS.

Person Specification:

  • The successful candidate is likely to meet all the following criteria:

Essential

  • The successful applicant will possess:
  • Enthusiastic and ambitious personality
  • Level 1 and/or Level 2 Electrical Installations to gain their NVQ Level 3 qualification.
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good communication, both verbal and written
  • Able to work under own initiative, as well as within teams.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of health, safety, quality, and environmental obligations.

Desirable

  • Experience in electrical installations associated with the water industry would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Relevant CSCS or ECS card (This can be provided).
