Job summary

University of Sheffield is seeking a capable technician to support teaching and research activities in electronics and electrical design. You will deliver effective technical service, assist student projects, and contribute to research programs while maintaining exemplary health and safety standards.

The role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, building, and maintaining a range of technical equipment, with emphasis on safe working practices and COSHH compliance.

Qualifications

• Higher National Diploma in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Experience providing effective and efficient technical support.
• Knowledge of COSHH and safe working practices; ability to diagnose and repair furnaces.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and research activities by providing technical service in electronics, electrical design, repair and maintenance.
• Assist undergraduate and postgraduate student projects and research projects.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety and service excellence.
