Electrical Fitters/Electricians: Military and Defence Sector: Southampton Area: Permanent Role: Attractive Salary, Shift Allowance, and Paid Overtime

Multiple Electrical Fitters/Electricians are required for an international Defence and Weapons Systems Company that is expanding its team. Flexible working arrangements are available, and these positions include Paid Overtime and Shift Allowance if shifts are required.

The Electrical Fitters/Electricians will be part of the Electrical Fitting Team, reporting to an Electrical Team Leader. Responsibilities include fitting, maintenance, and testing of electrical systems and equipment on Military and Defence Platforms.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and technical guidance.
2. Performing electrical testing on 12V, 24V, 110V, 240V, and 440V systems.
3. Executing crimping and soldering techniques.
4. Electrical installation, maintenance, and defect rectification in accordance with project schedules and quality standards.
5. Installation, testing, and maintenance of communication equipment such as VHF radios, Intercom, GPS, and AIS.
6. Fault diagnosis and defect rectification.
7. Conducting detailed electrical system inspections.
8. Using electrical and technical measuring equipment proficiently.
9. Calibrating measurement electrical systems as required.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

1. Completed an electrical trade apprenticeship or naval/marine equivalent qualification.
2. Good understanding of safe electrical work systems.
3. Experience working in confined spaces and at heights.
4. Marine or offshore electrical experience is advantageous.
5. Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required.
