We currently have multiple opportunities for Electrical Technicians in Rosyth, where you'll contribute to building the new ‘Inspiration’ class, Type 31 frigate, scheduled for delivery by the end of the year.

The role

As an Electrical Technician, you’ll have a unique role. Bring your technical skills and a safe working attitude, and we’ll offer you one of the most exciting engineering projects in the country.

In your daily work, you’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team alongside experienced professionals, engaging in activities such as:

  • Installing electrical equipment within the marine environment, including shock and non-shock mounted items.
  • Installing cable containment systems.
  • Glanding and terminating cabling at equipment, using various methods from single core domestic style to combat systems Mil-spec connectors.
  • Installing and testing fibre optic systems.
  • Wiring and checking electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, fire detection, control circuits, and combat systems within the marine environment.

This full-time role is 36 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, with opportunities for flexible overtime to increase your earnings.

Essential experience
  • Multi-pin plug connection/assembly for low voltage systems
  • Installation of control systems
  • Fire detection and alarm systems installation and maintenance
  • Emergency lighting installation and maintenance
  • Broadcast systems installation and maintenance
Qualifications
  • A minimum of an ONC in Electrical Engineering or a Level 3 Electrical apprenticeship

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance.
