The successful applicant will be responsible for preventative maintenance on machines and equipment, as well as responding to emergency machine breakdowns throughout the plant. This role involves involvement with the design, installation, and movement of existing machines, along with overhaul and repair of machinery and equipment. Ensuring that machines and equipment on site are safe, operational, efficient, and fit for purpose is essential. Applicants should be highly motivated, self-driven, and capable of undertaking shift work. The role also requires providing effective, prompt electrical diagnosis, repair, and rebuild of site plant, production equipment, premises, and services, ensuring that objectives for cost, quality, and timeliness are met.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Electrical Apprenticeship.
- Previous experience with manufacturing technologies, machines (including CNC processes), chemical plants, site, and facilities management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, team player, and good communication skills.
- Experience working in a busy manufacturing environment.
- Clear, concise, and effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with confidence and enthusiasm.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Knowledge of electrical circuitry related to machinery and factory services.
- Experience with Machine Tool Electronics and PLC systems.
- Knowledge of the latest Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
- Ability to read and understand circuit diagrams and technical drawings.
Key Role Requirements
- Perform duties and responsibilities of a Maintenance Fitter, Electrical.
- Provide expertise in electronic aspects related to site maintenance activities, including design control and operation of CNC systems on new and existing equipment.
- Establish and maintain record systems, whether in hard copy or using computer software.
- Prepare and maintain project, training, operational, and preventative maintenance documentation, instructions, and manuals.
- Maintain, service, repair, and calibrate electronic devices such as CNC machinery, programmable controllers, and electronic gauging equipment.
- Assist in electronic design and fabrication of machinery and test equipment as required.
- Compile electrical and electronic technical drawings for plant and machinery wiring and control systems, especially when manufactured or modified by the company.
- Undertake tasks with high quality standards to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to proper procedures.
