A leading recruitment firm is looking for an Electrical Field Service Engineer to work with a dynamic automation manufacturer in Cardiff. This role involves hands-on installation, troubleshooting, and client support within a 2-hour service area. The ideal candidate will possess strong PLC and HMI skills, alongside relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 or higher. Salary: Up to £45,000 + Company Van (including personal use) + Door-to-Door Overtime
Yolk Recruitment are exclusively partnering with a rapidly growing manufacturer at the forefront of automation solutions. Following sustained investment and a growing client base, we are seeking an Electrically Biased Multiskilled Field Service Engineer to join their expert team.
Our client is renowned for delivering cutting-edge automation and control systems, supporting some of the biggest names in the FMCG and Food & Drink sector as they transition to Industry 4.0.

Local field service: Attend customer sites within a 2-hour radius for installation, commissioning, and maintenance of bespoke control and automation systems.
Electrical fault finding: Use your expertise to diagnose and resolve electrical faults, with a focus on online PLC fault finding and HMI interrogation.
Control panel work: Support the build, wiring, and testing of control panels in the workshop as required.
Client liaison: Deliver professional, efficient service and technical support to clients on-site.
System upgrades: Assist with system modifications, upgrades, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
Documentation & compliance: Complete service reports and ensure health and safety standards are maintained on all visits.
This role offers genuine progression opportunities. For the right candidate, there is a clear pathway to move into an Automation Project Engineer position within the business. Qualifications: NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or similar.
Electrical expertise: Strong electrical bias with proven experience in industrial automation environments.
PLC & HMI skills: Confident with online PLC fault finding (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.) and HMI interrogation.
Technical reading: Able to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Automation systems: Experience with sensors, drives, and industrial control systems is highly desirable.
Flexibility: Willing to travel locally (within 2 hours) with occasional overtime as required.
Full UK Driving Licence required.
Competitive salary up to £45,000 (dependent on experience)
