Job summary

Corrigenda Ltd is seeking an experienced Service Delivery Manager to oversee day-to-day electrical service delivery across the Hampshire County Council estate. You will lead directly employed engineers, coordinate specialist subcontractors, and drive quotations through to completion.

The role emphasizes operational leadership, technical support, client liaison and continual improvement, with a focus on safety, quality and cost efficiency across multiple sites.

Qualifications

  • Electrical qualification or demonstrable equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of planned and reactive electrical maintenance.
  • Experience supervising or managing engineers and specialist subcontractors.
  • Ability to diagnose technical issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Good commercial awareness of maintenance, remedial works and costs.
  • Knowledge of RAMS, safety requirements and onsite contractor management.
  • FM hard services delivery across multiple sites for public sector.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • IT literacy with CAFM and other systems.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • DBS checks satisfied.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day delivery of electrical service across the contract, including PPM, reactive, remedial and quoted works.
  • Manage and provide technical support to directly employed engineers.
  • Coordinate and manage specialist subcontractors, monitoring performance and compliance.
  • Review engineer/subcontractor findings and progress actions.
  • Maintain oversight of open works and aged jobs to completion.
  • Coordinate resources with the Technical Service Manager, Helpdesk and Scheduler.
  • Attend site and client meetings to investigate issues and progress solutions.
  • Identify recurring faults and opportunities for service improvement.
  • Support planning, prioritisation and changes to requirements with schedulers.
  • Ensure calendars include planned work, training, and leave.

Job description

This role involves overseeing the day-to-day electrical service delivery across the Hampshire County Council (HCC) estate. Working closely with the Contract Management team, Technical Service Managers, Helpdesk and Schedulers, you will manage a team of directly employed engineers and coordinate specialist subcontractors to deliver planned, reactive, remedial and quoted works. The role has a strong focus on day-to-day operational leadership, technical support, client coordination, subcontractor management and progressing works from initial diagnosis through quotation and approval to completion.

  • Oversee day-to-day delivery of the relevant technical service across the contract, including PPM, reactive, remedial and quoted works.
  • Manage and provide technical support to directly employed engineers, ensuring work is effectively allocated, progressed and completed.
  • Coordinate and manage specialist subcontractors, monitoring performance, quality, compliance and responsiveness.
  • Review engineer and subcontractor findings, providing technical challenge and ensuring appropriate solutions and follow-on actions are progressed.
  • Maintain oversight of open works, proactively progressing aged jobs, technical dependencies and approved works through to completion.
  • Work closely with the Technical Service Manager, Helpdesk and Scheduler to coordinate resources, access, materials and subcontractors.
  • Work closely with HCC surveyors and other client representatives on day-to-day service delivery, technical issues, outstanding works and proposed solutions.
  • Attend site, supplier and client meetings as required, including site visits with engineers and HCC representatives to investigate issues, agree solutions and progress actions.
  • Identify recurring faults, asset issues and opportunities to improve service delivery, reliability and value for money.
  • Attend a weekly operational review meeting with the Technical Service Manager to review priority jobs, aged or problematic works, upcoming requirements and potential service or client issues.
  • Participate in operational catch-up meetings with HCC surveyors and relevant client representatives to review priorities, outstanding work, technical matters and agreed actions.
  • Support Schedulers with resource planning, work prioritisation and changes to operational requirements where required.
  • Ensure team calendars are maintained and kept up to date with planned work, meetings, training, annual leave and other commitments.
Commercial, Quotations and WIP
  • Take ownership of progressing work approvals, estimates and quotations from initial findings through technical review and client submission, ensuring they are accurate, sufficiently detailed and completed within required timescales.
  • Develop and review scopes of work, challenging subcontractor solutions and costs to ensure value for money and appropriate job profitability.
  • Maintain oversight of outstanding quotations and operational WIP, ensuring actions and dependencies are actively progressed through delivery and completion.
  • Support purchase order, supplier invoice and other cost queries relating to the service stream.
Health and Safety
  • Maintain a safe working environment for employees, subcontractors, clients and building users.
  • Review RAMS and ensure works are appropriately planned and undertaken in accordance with relevant safety and technical requirements.
  • Undertake site inspections, compliance checks and permit-to-work activities as required.
  • Monitor subcontractor H&S performance and address or elevate concerns.
  • Work with relevant technical service manager on technical compliance, safe systems of work and significant H&S matters.
People
  • Manage, support and develop the directly employed engineers assigned to the contract, taking responsibility for their day-to-day management and performance.
  • Set clear expectations for quality, productivity, customer service, safe working and individual responsibility.
  • Hold regular team catch-ups and one-to-one meetings to review workload, performance, development requirements and any support required.
  • Complete annual employee appraisals, with support from the Technical Service Manager where required, and identify development and training requirements.
  • Undertake monthly engineer audits, including workmanship, documentation, compliance and vehicle inspections, using the agreed company audit process.
  • Manage and approve engineer annual leave requests, ensuring appropriate operational coverage is maintained across the contract.
  • Provide day-to-day technical, operational and management support to the team, addressing or escalating performance and people matters in accordance with company procedures.

  • Ability to diagnose technical issues, develop practical solutions and review technical scopes and quotations.
  • Good commercial awareness of maintenance, remedial works and subcontractor costs.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety requirements, including reviewing RAMS and managing contractors safely onsite.
  • Sound understanding of FM hard service delivery within a multi-site public sector environment and a strong customer service focus.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate field resources and drive actions through to completion.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, engineers and specialist subcontractors.
  • IT literate, with the ability to use CAFM and other business systems.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to satisfy required DBS checks.
