Job description

Our client requires an experienced Electrical Estimator to calculate the costs associated with electrical installations in construction projects, ensuring projects are accurately budgeted and profitable. You will be expected to analyze blueprints, specifications, and other relevant documents to determine material, labor, and other project costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing Drawings and Specifications:

    Reviewing and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications to understand the scope of work and identify material and labor requirements.

  • Cost Estimation:

    Developing detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical installations, including materials, labor, equipment, and other project-related expenses.

  • Material Takeoffs:

    Calculating the quantities of electrical materials needed for a project, such as wires, conduits, fixtures, and equipment.

  • Supplier and Subcontractor Coordination:

    Sourcing and negotiating pricing with suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services.

  • Tender Preparation:

    Preparing comprehensive tender documents, including cost breakdowns and pricing information, to support bids for new projects.

  • Collaboration:

    Working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate estimates and project feasibility.

  • Risk Assessment:

    Identifying potential risks and cost overruns associated with electrical projects and developing mitigation strategies.

  • Value Engineering:

    Identifying opportunities to optimize costs and improve efficiency without compromising quality.
