Job summary

BGEN Ltd in Warrington is seeking an Estimator to produce accurate, commercially competitive estimates for major projects across water, power, energy, pharmaceutical, nuclear, and food & beverage sectors.

You will review tender enquiries, prepare cost estimates, source quotations, and ensure timely, compliant tender submissions while maintaining high quality and commercial awareness. A strong background in estimating within energy-related industries is preferred.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of current relevant Estimating and Commercial practice.
• Good knowledge of engineering practices.
• Good knowledge of project management practices.
• Good knowledge of HSE systems and compliance.
• Good knowledge of QA systems and compliance.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation and with clients.
• High level of computer literacy.
• Considerable experience in estimating packages of work to the standards required within the Power & Energy, chemical, pharmaceutical, nuclear, utilities and food & drink industries.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate, commercially competitive estimates after reviewing tender Enquiries and contractual obligations.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotation requests from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Attend site visits, tender review meetings, and project kick-offs to support delivery.
• Guide and oversee Estimating Engineers to ensure compliant, on-time tender submissions.

What you'll be doing?

This role is responsible for producing accurate and commercially competitive estimates through the review and analysis of tender enquiries, technical requirements, and contractual obligations. Key responsibilities include preparing detailed cost estimates, obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations, completing comprehensive take-offs, and liaising with internal departments to gather essential tender information. The role involves attending site visits, client tender review meetings, and project kick-off meetings to support successful project delivery. Additionally, it provides guidance and oversight to Estimating Engineers, ensuring tender submissions are complete, compliant, and delivered on time while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and commercial awareness.
