Overview

An excellent opportunity for an ‘Electrical Estimator’ has become available to join the Engineering Services South East regional team based in our head office in Northampton. Along with the normal/standard estimating duties the candidate will be responsible for the day to day management of the tender process ensuring the required deadlines are met.

Key aspects of the role include the production of detailed tender bids and cost plans, attending mid and post tender meetings, interfacing with both our existing and prospective new clients and the communication/interfacing with sub-contractor and supplier companies, using existing companies and generating new leads.

Responsibilities
  • Day to day management of the tender process ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Production of detailed tender bids and cost plans.
  • Attending mid and post tender meetings.
  • Interfacing with existing and prospective new clients.
  • Communication/interfacing with sub-contractor and supplier companies, using existing companies and generating new leads.
Requirements
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge of all aspects of Electrical building services.
  • Attend, present and chair both internal and external meetings.
  • Ensure all tender documents have been reviewed and understood (i.e. Prelims, T&C’s, BREEAM, Fire Strategy, Acoustics, BIM etc.).
  • Willing and able to work as part of a team with personal skills to promote good relationships and a friendly working environment.
  • Commercial acumen to ensure tenders are financially sound.
  • Make sure M&E abnormal are included for both disciplines.
  • Pro-active and approachable.
  • Agree strategy for use of named specialists or ‘equal’ alternatives detailed within the documents.
