My client are a leading provider of datacentre design, supply, build, and managed services. We are committed to delivering seamless and integrated solutions for datacentre operators worldwide.
They are looking for a Senior Electrical Estimator who wants to move into an office-based position working on the production of design and solution requirements for multiple sales proposals and bid estimations. Provide and work within bid plans with effective communication whilst obtaining necessary support via internal teams or supply chain so that customer timelines can be achieved.
This role would be working closely with the pre-construction director for Datacentre projects, you'd be working through the designs to establish a price to present as part of the solution for the customer.
Responsibilities:
- Work with senior management to identify and convert winning opportunities into profitable contracts, in line with business strategy.
- Use expertise, market intelligence, customer knowledge, and influence to prepare a bid-winning strategy that differentiates from competitors.
- Take ownership of assigned bids and engage supply chain stakeholders early to meet deadlines.
- Ensure accuracy of estimated costs through detailed reviews, peer reviews, and presenting costs and sales values, while capturing risks and opportunities.
- Maintain sales pipeline data upon bid submission using management tools aligned with business processes.
- Manage the production of bid submissions to ensure clear communication of differentiators, timely completion, and full response to customer enquiries and tender requirements.
- Demonstrate understanding of relevant software applications and utilize technology to improve work processes.
- Share information, communicate, and collaborate using technology.
- Develop and maintain a broad internal and external network supporting tendering objectives.
- Manage third-party and supply chain relationships cost-effectively and efficiently.
- Identify ways to gain a competitive advantage through superior service delivery.
- Lead bid handovers, ensuring knowledge transfer and supporting project teams to understand client specifications, build, quotations, and requirements for successful delivery.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME), providing knowledge and expertise in specific areas.
- Gather and share customer feedback, stay informed on market trends to inform service development.
- Manage and support effective use of company email systems.
- Represent the business at events to promote and engage with customers.
- Uphold core values and behaviors in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Data Protection and Information Security standards.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Experience in M&E environment preferred; electrical knowledge is essential.
- Sector and industry knowledge within Data Centre and related services.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint) at an intermediate/advanced level.
- Understanding of profit and loss, and commercial costing.
- Good time management and prioritization skills with a results-oriented approach.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently or within a team.
- Contribute to strategy and systems development.
- Relevant qualifications for the sector and industry.
- If applicable, SMSTS & CSCS certifications.
- Maintain necessary professional certifications and attend relevant training.
